I would go with LEDs but you would have to replace all the lights on the trailer (or at least all the lights on the same circuit would have to be either LED or incandescent). The reason is that LEDs use much less amperage at the same voltage then do incandescents.
Many LED tail lights are sealed which makes them ideal for boat trailers. When making the wiring connections you would want them to be watertight so shrink tubing would be great.

We actually have a product that does exactly what you are looking to do. Check out the CE Smith Guide Ons part # CE27740. These are guide-ons that have LED lights on the tops of them for increased visibility.
The PVC of this kit would be strong enough for it's intended purpose of helping guide a boat onto the trailer. As long as you aren't hitting them at too hard of angle you should be just fine. Your old ID bar must have grounded through its mounting hardware since it only had the one wire. ID bar # MCL97RB also has just one wire and grounds through the mounting hardware. This is an LED light so it will draw much less power than incandescent lights. If your boat trailer is aluminum though a jumper ground wire should be attached between the frame and mounting hardware and attached to a steel surface or the main trailer connector ground.

I looked up picture of your Nitro Z8 bass boat and trailer and the lights of it appear to be the non-LED version of the part # TLL160RK that you referenced.

The difference between waterproof and submersible is that the submersible lights have drain holes to let any water drain out if any should find its way inside the light while the waterproof does not allow water in because it is sonically sealed. For a boat trailer I recommend the waterproof since it does prevent water from entering. It is always a good idea to unplug your trailer from your tow vehicle when backing your trailer into water for loading and unloading.
